Pretty good torch setup there. It's nice to have all the tips and everything.
I am with you on the propane thing. It's plenty great for most soldering/brazing (except on steel) and cutting. Plasma cutters are a bit nicer, except if it's something extra thick, then you either need a huge plasma cutter or back to the torch. You can use MAPP too, but acetylene is really the only fuel gas for welding and brazing on steel. MAPP also has to have a different tip for cutting.

You have to make sure that you have the right regulators and hoses though. Most hoses are rated acetylene only. I don't know what can go wrong when you run propane or MAPP through them but I'd hate to find out. Also, if you run with the wrong regulator for your fuel gas it can plug up. I think it's the oil in propane that's hard on acetylene regulators and it will get in and gum them up. So make sure your regulator and hoses are matched to your fuel gas.

Cheers

the regulator on the propane is for propane only and the hoses are the all fuel grade. It has been working well and its way cheaper than buying one of those propane cutting victor kits those are such a rip off. my camera broke today in the middle of what was to be my finest production to date.

That's too bad, sorry to hear that. If you're getting a new one, I highly recommend the SONY DCR-SR62. That's the one I use. It has excellent audio fideliy.

i am getting one later today and I am going to do a video on how to hook up the regulators and light the torch. it's always the simple things people have questions about because "real" welders don't bother putting such basic things on here. However I don't think real welders turn to you tube for advice they seem like a proud bunch.

Does an oxy + propane kit burn hotter than a MAPP gas torch?

NO map+oxygen burns hotter than propane and o2 but it is still not hot enough to weld and is more expensive so I use propane or acetylene.
